All Quiet on the Western Front
There were mixed opinions on The Hundred Year Old Man… with some fairly heated discussions. In general I think it was decided that it was not a book to analyse, and therefore possibly not ideal for a book group discussion. But those of us that did enjoy it found it a compelling read whilst ignoring the fact Allan is clearly a psychopath.
The book for next time is All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque. We’re meeting at Mango Landin on 11th April.
Runners up were Bring up the Bodies, Gone Girl, The Night Watch, Great Gatsby, Anatomy of a Disappearance, The House of Spirits and Love in the Time of Cholera.
