Blink and you’ll miss it
Thanks to Anna for taking notes – normal service will be resumed next time:
Right, there was general consensus last night that Beyond Black was
really good, here are some of the comments offered:
“light-hearted yet harrowing”
“dark, comic and genuinely chilling”
“at times tedious”
“spooky, funny and gripping”
We nominated the following books:
‘We need to talk about Kevin’ Lionel Shriver
‘The Time Travellers Wife’ by Audrey Niffenegger
‘In Cold Blood’ by Truman Capote
‘Freakonomics’ by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner
‘Blink’ by Malcolm Gladwell
and Blink won it so we’ll be reading this for the next meeting on 25th
October where we will be meeitng at The Effra pub where apparently
there won’t be any jazz on that evening. We also talked about the
Christmas dinner which we thought we should have at the Bonningtons
again – the date for the diary is the 6th December.
