Chrysalis
So we had an enjoyable chat about the multi-spectral Golden Notebook, descending into madness, despair at the lack of progress towards solving the problems of the world, and concern that without the Olympics we wouldn’t have anything to complain about.
The book for next time is The Chrysalids by John Wyndham and we’re meeting on the 2nd August in Mango Landin at 7.30 ish as usual.

Runners up were Oranges are not the only fruit, the Prisoner of Heaven, Straw Dogs and Great House.
Thanks for sharing this! We take it in turns to choose books but I like your idea of bringing ideas and then voting. An ex-colleague goes to a bookclub where everyone votes out of 10 and they then average. We do a lot of talking but no writing!
Doris Lessing is very much internal dialogue. I suspect some readers will have found it heavy going.
