Demon Copperhead
Sorry about the date change and tube strike clash last week – fingers crossed things will go more smoothly in April, but it’s a good reminder to check either the Facebook event or blog before a meeting to check we’ve not had to make any changes. We only usually do this if Effra can’t accommodate us for some reason.
I believe there was still a decent turnout for Pachinko, but couldn’t make it myself so not sure what the verdict on it was? Thanks to Nelly for taking notes.
Our next book is another long one, and it’s also only out in hardback currently so you might want to check libraries as an option. It’s Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver, and the next meeting will be on 20th April.

Other books pitched were:
The Line of Beauty – Alan Hollinghurst
Scary Monsters – Michelle de Kretser
Empire of Pain – Patrick Radden Keefe
The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender – Leslye Walton
Hamnet – Maggie O’Farrell
Love Marriage – Monica Ali
Serotonin – Michel Houellebecq
Fictions/Ficciones – Jorge Luis Borges
Freezing Order – Bill Browder
City of Brass – S A Chakraborty
Also remember our current long read is A Dance to the Music of Time by Anthony Powell, we’ll be discussing this series probably in Autumn sometime for all that are interested.
See you in April! Bring some short books to pitch please!
