Hitching a lift
(sorry for the delay in putting this up – and thanks to Simon for taking charge!)
Opinions were mixed on Memento Mori, with some even expressing doubt about this whole “mortality” malarkey, but all were agreed that http://www.independentage.org/ is a charity worthy of greater support and exposure. In Pete’s absence, thanks go to David Mills for providing the doodle.
The next meeting will be on the 16th of October, when we’ll be discussing The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
The other nominations were:
1Q84 by Haruki Murakami
The Reader by Bernhard Schlink
All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins (not to be confused with The Woman in Black)
The Woman In Black by Susan Hill (not to be confused with The Woman in White)
The Magic Cottage by James Herbert (the bats – oh God, the bats!)
Hi, what time and where is today’s meeting? Thanks!
Hi – at the effra social from half sevenish (will try and grab a table as we forgot to book!)
