A Lonely Century
We had a lively meeting outside to discuss the Goldfinch (was he pushed off the boat?) and paintings we’d like to steal from art galleries.

My notebook is now all holey
The book for next time is One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
runners up included Great Apes by Will Self, The Circle by Dave Eggars, All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy, Something Wicked this way Comes by Ray Bradbury and the very nearly winning Metroland by Julian Barnes.
We’ll be meeting at 7.30ish on Thursday 12th June in the Effra Social – either outside or in the bar somewhere. Everyone welcome.
Since ‘look out for the people with the books’ doesn’t work as well with Kindles perhaps I’ll bring a suitable prop. Suggestions welcome.
How about a pipe?
