We had a packed meeting to discuss The Picture of Dorian Gray, with a few mixed feelings about the book – but perhaps there’s only thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.
Book for next time is The Awakening by Kate Chopin. Runners up included Ragtime by EL Doctorow, NW by Zadie Smith, Fingersmith by Sarah Waters, Faust by Goethe, Elmet by Fiona Mozley, Neuromancer by William Gibson and Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan.
