When all seems lost, Brixton Book Group is here for you (plus what we’re reading this month)
Hello all,
we talked about the Bone clocks and joked about living in a post-Brexit post apocalyptic world like Holly. Oh how we laughed. But don’t worry, the book for next time is super.

Don’t stare into the eye, or your soul will be decanted.
Book for next time is High Rise by JG Ballard. Runners up included Freedom to Exile, The Gap of Time, The Secret History of Wonder Woman, A Little Life, the End of the Affair, and I love DICK.
Because I went to the Barbican centre this week, and the whole place looks like something out of a dystopian 1976 version of the concrete future – e.g like this:
We’re thinking that we should have an extraordinary meeting in the Barbican to talk about the book. Obviously this is a bit of a trek from Brixton. I was considering putting some sort of poll here but I’m fed up with voting on things so we’re meeting in the Barbican on the 21st of July – exact venue TBC, but probably in the bar.
