Station 11
After successfully predicting the outcome of the 2015 Man Booker Prize (Culture show, take note!) we had a good discussion about our inner patois voice, Jamaica and the singer also known as Bob Marley.
Book for next time is the cheery post-apocalyptic story Station Eleven by Emily St John Mandel. Which looks very good indeed.

It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
Runners up include: How to care for your Triffid by John Wyndham, Funny Girl by Nick Hornby and the range, Sapiens(insert adolescent biology lesson giggle about ‘homo erectus’ here) and Bill Bryson Dribbling all the way to the next movie deal tie in.
We’re meeting in the Effra Social on November the 12th, which is a Thursday and will absolutely not involve any fireworks displays.
Hi there. I’d love to join this book club! How?!
Hi Fergus – just subscribe to the email newsletter which will have details of our next meeting and just turn up!
