The Orton Diaries
A meeting in the main room of the Effra Social last night as the usual room was reserved, so it was a little noisier and more difficult to discuss and pitch. But still a good meeting, welcome to all the new people, and kudos to those who were still there at the bitter end when they were putting the chairs up on tables in some sort of hint it was time for us to go.
The book for next time is The Orton Diaries by Joe Orton which apparently needs to come with a trigger warning.
Other suggestions were:
Clothes Music Boys – Viv Albertine
I Pass Like Night – Jonathan Ames
The Well of Loneliness – Radclyffe Hall
Reading Lolita in Tehran – Azar Nafisi
The Rosie Project – Graeme Simsion
We’ll be meeting at the Effra Social from about 7.30 on 9th April.
