Their Eyes Were Watching God
We had another zoomy meeting to chat about part one of the three book epic Black Leopard Red Wolf by Marlon James. Although not everyone finished it was generally well received, if a little tricky to read. Might put that down to the global pandemic reducing our attention spans. The Buffalo sounds awesome.

The book for next time is Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. Runners up included Shadows of the Pomegranate Tree by Tariq Ali, Washington Black by Esi Edugyan, The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead and Sweet Tooth by Ian McEwan.
Next meeting will be on the 6th of August on Zoom.

Note that we’re going to keep the Zoom meetings going for the immediate future – at some point we’d love to return to the pub, and we might do some socially distanced meetups as well, but will be keeping the option of online meetings.
