There’s a sting in the tale
Sorry that was an awful pun. We had a fabulous meeting, and very much enjoyed having the company of Alex Wheatle to talk about East of Acre Lane (watch this space for a review). The book for next time is The Wasp Factory
by Iain Banks (remember if you suggest it, you have to come next time!).
Runners up in no particular order are: Dark Heart: The Shocking Truth About Hidden Britain,Interpreter of Maladies: Stories of Bengal, Boston and Beyond,The Unlimited Dream Company
,Ugly
and The Glass Room
I’ll check next time in case there is comedy on at the same time (apologies – Thursday is usually a quiet evening).
Next meeting is in 3 weeks Thursday 18th March in Mango Landin – if there’s an event on we’ll go elsewhere and I’ll post the location on here.
PS. Brixton Book group are fundraising to have talking book made by the RNIB – find out more here.
