We have always lived in the Castle
The doodle is back! (Not including vote as we’re still online) we talked about flying tortoises and colonialism in the very excellent Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe.

The book for next time is We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson and our next meeting is on Thursday the 25th of March at 7.30ish (so you have time to finish our Lanark long read in between!)
We’re still meeting on Zoom – link to the meeting is here. At some point we hope to be returning to the pub! – but would be lovely to include our online guests in some form as well – any ideas or feedback on that welcome.
Runners up included: How to Live by Sarah Bakewell, Therapy by David Lodge, The Poor Mouth by Flann O’Brien, Offshore by Penelope Fitzgerald, All Junkies Float by Clarke Wainikka, Lanny by Max Porter, Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-joo and My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russe.
Remember you can always re-pitch a book again – and we publish the list of all the book suggestions. At some point I’m also going to be listing these on bookshop.org so you can support your local bookshop.
