Cathy it’s meeee, I’ve come home now so-ooo cold outside your windowww. Well Kate Bush clearly never made it past the first couple of chapters but the rest of you did and we have a lively meeting. Wuthering Heights was a great discussion. Atmospheric, claustrophobic, awful people, generational trauma, unreliable narrators, violence. I think most people liked it!
Book for next time is The Talented Mr Ripley by Patricia Highsmith and we’re meeting on the 26th of Feb in the Effra Social so you’ve got just 3 weeks for this one. It also means that book group won’t clash with book group regular Joe’s gig and Album Launch on the 5th of March in the Bread and Roses Pub.
Runners up included Faust by Goethe, Free Love by Tessa Hadley, All Fours by Miranda July, Kick the Latch by Katheryn Scanlan and Beloved by Toni Morrison.
Thanks to guest doodler Irina for the art!
